How to read a same-city gap
- Use the lower high and the higher low. A gap is those two posted summaries missing each other. It is not a promise about every shift in the city.
- Read the median on a wide range. The high is the top of the posted band. The posted-high guide compares that top with the median.
- Stay inside one license when you sort by the high rate. The RN, LPN, and CNA pay-by-city pages do that. This page only compares two licenses that share a city.
- The shift in the app has its own rate. A city row is a summary. Download the app and read the hourly rate on the shift before claiming it.
Common questions
Does a gap mean every higher-license shift pays more?
No. The gap compares two posted summaries: the lower license's high and the higher license's low. In Omaha, NE, the CNA high is $24.00 and the LPN low is $45.00. Those summaries do not meet. A shift in the app still shows its own hourly rate.
Do any same-city CNA and LPN ranges overlap?
Baldwinsville, NY does. CNA posts $26.80–$42.21/hr (11 open slots) and LPN posts $40.87–$42.21/hr (5 open slots). The overlap is $1.34. Holyoke, CO meets at $37.26 and does not overlap past that dollar. The other 84 cities have a gap.
Do CNA and RN ranges meet in the same city?
