A high rate and a long list are different facts

On the September 26, 2026 at 10:15 UTC shift board, 379 markets for RN, LPN, and CNA clear a $10/hr floor. Together they hold 4,455 open slots across 3,145 shifts in 32 states. GNA, LNA, and STNA are counted with CNA. LVN is counted with LPN. CMA, CMT, RMA, NA, and specialty RN rows stay off this page (18 markets, 59 open slots). The pay-by-state guide is the hourly-range table. The open-slots guide ranks cities by volume. This page answers a narrower question: in each state, which license the openings belong to.

CNA / GNA / LNA / STNA markets hold 2,794 open slots (62.7%). LPN / LVN markets hold 1,172 (26.3%). RN markets hold 489 (11.0%). Pennsylvania is the deepest state, with 1,169 open slots, and CNA holds 781 of them (66.8%). Among states with at least 100 open slots, Massachusetts is the most even split: its largest license, CNA, holds 37.1%. Maryland is the most concentrated of that same group: CNA holds 77.3%. Illinois is the only state on this board where RN open slots outnumber both LPN open slots and CNA open slots.

The pay figure next to a city is that one market's posted low, median, and high. It is not a blended rate for the whole state, and it is not a rate for a license the state table shows as zero. Read the rate on the shift in the app before treating a row as an offer.

Open slots by license

Each shift counts once in the shift column. Open slots can be higher when one shift needs more than one person. The state column counts states with at least one market in that license.

Sorted by open slots. The largest-share column is that license's slots divided by the state's slots. The last column is the single busiest market in the state, any license, with that market's own posted range.

Each city links to its live market page. A zero is a count on this snapshot, not a closed state. Markets whose posted minimum or maximum is under $10/hr are left out. That filter removes placeholder rates.

Where the RN slots are

These are the eight states with the most RN open slots. The pay columns are the busiest RN market in that state, not every RN market there. City pages ranked by the high rate are on the RN pay-by-city guide.

2 states have open slots and no CNA market on this snapshot: Arizona (5 open slots), Virginia (1 open slot).

A zero means this board had no market for that license at or above $10/hr when the snapshot was taken. It does not say whether a later shift will post, and it does not say which license a person should hold. Cities that currently post all three licenses together are listed on the three-license city guide.

How to read the split

Common questions

Does the license with the most slots also have the highest hourly rate?

No. On this snapshot CNA markets hold 62.7% of the open slots. RN markets hold 11.0%. Those are counts. The hourly range for a city and license is on that market's row and on the pay-by-city pages. Read the rate printed on the shift.

If my state shows zero for my license, is the state closed?

No. A zero means this snapshot has no market for that license at or above $10/hr. Pennsylvania leads the board with 1,169 open slots, and other states have shorter lists, including zeros. A later snapshot can add a market. The app shows the shifts your file qualifies for.

Are these national workforce numbers?

No. They are open slots on the AllShifts per-diem board at September 26, 2026 at 10:15 UTC. 379 markets passed the $10/hr filter. 59 open slots on other credentials are not in the tables.

How do I see the actual shifts?

Download the AllShifts app (iPhone / Android), add your license and credentials, and the app shows the shifts your file qualifies for, with the hourly rate on the shift before you claim it. Pay is W-2.
