Divide open slots by the shift count
On the September 26, 2026 at 10:15 UTC shift board, 379 markets for RN, LPN, and CNA clear a $10/hr floor. GNA, LNA, and STNA are counted with CNA. LVN is counted with LPN. Together they hold 4,455 open slots across 3,145 distinct shifts. Openings per shift is open slots divided by that shift count. The ratio is an average for the city and license. This page publishes the count and the ratio. It does not name a facility.
18 other markets (CMA, CMT, NA, RMA, S-RN) hold 59 open slots and stay off the tables below. They are not part of the RN, LPN, and CNA total.
The median ratio is 1. 246 markets are the most common case, with exactly 1 opening per shift. Those markets hold 1,028 open slots (23.1%). 133 markets post more than one opening per shift. Those markets hold 3,427 open slots (76.9%). 246 markets post exactly 1 and hold 1,028 open slots (23.1%). On this snapshot the ratio is never under 1: a market does not list more distinct shifts than open slots.
The busiest band by open slots is over 1 and under 2: 102 markets and 2,581 open slots (57.9%). 9 of the 31 markets at 2 or more openings per shift have a shift count of 1. The other 22 list more than one shift. Every market in the over-1-and-under-2 band lists at least two shifts. A ratio above 1 is the average opening count, not a count of workplaces. The openings-per-workplace guide divides the same slots by the workplace count. The open-slots guide compares open slots with distinct shifts without the ratio. The hourly median is the middle shift in that city and license, and each shift counts once. The posted-high guide reads that median against the high rate.

How to read the ratio
- Divide slots by the shift count. That is openings per shift for one city and one license.
- A ratio of 1 is one opening on each counted shift. 246 markets are there, and they hold 1,028 open slots.
- Read the low, median, and high on the row. The ratio is a count. The rate on the shift in the app is the wage.
- Same city, different license. CNA, LPN, and RN ratios in one city are separate markets. Pay by city is on the RN, LPN, and CNA pages.
